It’s never easy to wake up and catch news of the passing of one of your oldest lifelong friends, sadly that is how my day started.
While I had lost touch with Chris over the past few years I always saw him pop up on Facebook from time to time or would get the random text or missed call, now ones that I wish I had answered.
I met Chris back in 3rd grade at Hiawatha Elementary School, we remained great friends even when our groups of friends changed from time to time. After school we were neighbors and then roommates in a fixer-upper that he bought in Lansing, those were some interesting evenings we had with the grill going and us attempting to be like Bob Vila ha!
After Peyton was born he used to joke about how he was her godfather no matter what I had to say about it. His humor and laugh will be missed but not forgotten. Rest easy my friend.
