I have had an assortment of random knives for a while now, some on the cheaper end while also having a few $100+ knives, but never had an actual matching decent set of knives to sit on the counter.
On Black Friday I decided while I was out that I should see what was available and I came across the Henckels International Definition 17-piece knife block set. While these are not the most high-end in terms of knives they are a decent set with a nice block for everyday use.
So far I am pretty happy with them but now I have been chomping at the bit to get an even better set of knives to replace these ones with.
