Not sure it’s quite a yearly tradition, but it is certainly something that they are aiming for; there is a pumpkin carving contest.
I had no plans to carve a pumpkin and enter this contest, but the IT department had other plans. Upon arriving to work a day before the entry date, I was told that our team was going to get some pumpkins and carve them up!
We went out and got our pumpkins as well as grabbed lunch while we were at it, and then returned to the office where we began our carving sessions. We each entered our pumpkins and returned to our normally scheduled work day.
The following day, they allowed for entries to come in and were going to decide on the Friday before the end of the business day. And to my surprise, after all the votes came in, I took first place! I had never really used paint on a pumpkin before, but after winning this contest, I might need to start from now on.
